In the rearview mirror, she can see how far she has come. She was off to a strong start in adulthood, receiving a full-ride scholarship to one of the most prestigious schools in the Philippines, The University of San Carlos. In 2015, before MySource was started, COO Daryl Christensen worked for a major company. When that company had a job fair, it was Daryl who interviewed her and gave Mylene an initial career opportunity, bringing her in as an intern. He knew how talented she was right off the bat. So, it was knowing that, and seeing her growth over the years, that got her in the door at MySource many years later.

Mylene was a data analyst for six years prior to joining MySource. She began to gravitate toward the BPO industry for several reasons. First was its reputation for offering competitive salaries in the Philippines. With her child and parents’ dependence on her, she wanted to earn more for her family. However,  the  desire  for change and the opportunity to explore new avenues and grow played a significant role in her decision as well. Hearing stories from friends already working with BPO companies piqued her interest even further, as every day seemed to provide fresh challenges, even when working with the same clients. She had a feeling that the dynamic environment would fuel her passion for continuous growth and learning.

Mylene embarked on her journey with MySource in August of 2021. She initially applied for a position as a Customer Service Representative but after being interviewed, management thought she would be a good fit as Daryl’s executive assistant, and then she went through another series of interviews with Daryl. Once she was hired, it was only a few months later that she was promoted to her current position of Corporate Admin Manager, which she attributes to the fact that she had proved herself  to  management.  She proved she could handle high-stress situations, and higher task loads, and that she could efficiently multitask. After all that, her most important qualifying ability is being able to see  the  big picture: all the moving parts and dynamics of what is going on throughout the entire company.

As Corporate Admin Manager, Mylene coordinates projects, schedules, and navigates many different people and scenarios, ultimately making sure things are running at their optimized potential. Some of her major successes include integrating a new office location, overseeing GRC [Governance, Risk, and Compliance] initiatives, and organizing events that sometimes involve 350+ associates. Events can include things like the big end- of-year party, or visits to the local orphanage, where MySource associates go and give out gifts and hang out with the kids. While coordinating these events, she is also overseeing accounting and billing. She says that though she doesn’t directly handle other departments like operations, HR, or sales, she is very aware of everything happening throughout the company. She said she is “connected with everyone” because she has a big hand  in employee engagement and  employee  happiness,  saying  “we want to make sure all of our  employees  are  happy  and contented”.
 
MySource has a 24/7 workweek, and though Mylene is not technically working 24/7, for important matters, she will make herself available at any time, evidence of her true dedication. With so much responsibility on her plate, she is currently training an administrative assistant, that will be able to help her with some of her projects. This is a true testament to how far she has come from starting at MySource as an assistant herself. She thinks back on her position as “executive assistant” fondly. The door to her office, of course, says, “Corporate Admin Manager”, but it also still says “Executive Assistant”, a nod to just how much she has grown, something she is rightfully proud of.
 
According to Mylene, what really sets MySource apart is the exceptional management team. She experienced this firsthand, as she made significant professional growth within just two years at the company. She attributes a lot of her success to the supportive culture at MySource, something she actively strives to keep alive in the company culture.
 
For Mylene, there is personal significance as well. Joining the company gave her the sense of belonging that she was looking for. MySource is family-oriented in the sense that they are keenly aware that everyone is a part of a family somewhere, and for this, and many other reasons, the company does all it can to cultivate a healthy work-life balance. Beyond the personal fulfillment that Mylene felt, her job also provided her with more financial stability which helps her provide for her family. The trust given to her by management is something she does not take lightly and further solidifies her commitment and loyalty to the company.
 
Looking at the road ahead, one of Mylene’s goals with the company is to facilitate growth. She is currently working on a big initiative to prepare the entire company to be  ISO  certified  by 2024. She wants to see the company continue to  thrive  and expand its presence. She envisions multiple branches across the Philippines that would provide  more  employment  opportunities and be able to offer exceptional BPO services to a  broader clientele. With a strong determination to drive growth and success, Mylene remains dedicated and foresees a long and prosperous journey for the company, as well as for herself.
